Gisela Heinrici
The impulse for my artistic work comes from what I see directly in front of me. Beyond the visible exterior of the things and people I paint, I want to penetrate into the interior and capture the essence.
I orientate myself on the abundance of shapes, colors and patterns in nature, but I want to express my subjective perception beyond the mere image. My artistic beginnings lie in watercolor. The blank space, the white of the paper as an element of the representation, gives space to your own imagination. This approach also shapes my painting, which tends to capture an impression fleetingly rather than describe it in detail.
